Cost

2026 International Mathematical Olympiad Alumni Reunion

Nobody will profit from this event, and so all of the costs represent actual costs incurred for the activities. The organizers make an effort to minimize those costs while maintaining quality.

Alumni are responsible for arranging their own travel to and from Shanghai, and also will need to book their own lodging in Shanghai for all nights except for Tue Jul 21 (Hangzhou) and Wed Jul 22 (Anji). Since overnight accommodation in Shanghai can be relatively affordable, many alumni may choose to arrive Shanghai on Sat Jul 19 or earlier, and go exploring on their own.

For alumni who are not already officially attending IMO 2026 in an official capacity (e.g., as Team Leader, Deputy Leader, Coordinator, etc., in which case the IMO will already provide them with an access badge) the combined fee for all activities mentioned is US$850 per person. That includes 2 days of IMO site access, the alumni dinner cruise in Shanghai, and day-long tours and hotels in Hangzhou and Anji, with transportation from Shanghai, and all meals except for breakfasts on the 2 IMO site access days. (It’s probably too early to go there for breakfast anyway.)

For alumni who are already officially attending IMO 2026 in an official capacity (as defined above), they will not need IMO site access or the alumni dinner cruise, because they will already have an access badge supplied by the IMO. Their fee is then US$550 per person (the result of subtracting IMO site access and the dinner cruise).
